3 Things You Need For The Best Basic Skincare Routine

Where To Start

Now, I get asked all the time about what order to put on skin products, when to start using a serum or eye cream and how to create a skincare routine. With so many different products it can be overwhelming to navigate what your skin needs and where to begin.

Want good skin – develop good skin habits. Get the basics down pat before you start adding all those confusing serums, boosters and concentrates.

First of all, you need to work out what your current skin type is. As a teen. you probably had lots of breakouts and may have stuck to oily/ combination skin products ever since. But, the key to a good skincare routine is taking a moment to stop, reassess your skin, see what it needs and what you want to achieve. If you have never been to a beauty salon before, this is the perfect opportunity to have your skin assessed by a professional. As we age, our skin changes and if you want to start addressing specific concerns a therapist is a great place to start. Find your closest Skeyndor Salon here.

The 3 Must Have’s For Your Basic Skin Care Routine

Cleanser

A good quality cleanser won’t strip your skin and is key to keeping it refreshed, hydrated and radiant. If you wear stubborn makeup, use a makeup remover before you cleanse.

Toner

A toner will help remove any left over impurities and dead skin cells from the surface of your skin after cleansing. They are designed to hydrate and activate the skin to prepare it for your next product. Tip: All Skeyndor Milk Cleansers can be removed with a toner oppose to water for when you feel your skin is extra dry.

(Lazy Girl Tip: want to combine your makeup remover, cleanser and toner? Use the Skeyndor Micellar water)

Moisturiser

Moisturising is the best thing you can do for your skin even if you are super oily. When your skin is properly hydrated it looks healthy, glowy and plump. Plus, you can keep that flakiness, roughness and those pesky dehydration lines at bay.

Level Up: Add To This Basic Routine

Exfoliator

Use an exfoliator after cleansing once a week, or twice a week if you have oily skin. It will help remove dead skin cells and stimulate new ones. A quality exfoliator will have you glowing in no time. Skeyndor has ones to suit all skin types with lots of different textures and exfoliating methods.

Face Mask

You can add a targeted face mask to your skincare routine once or twice a week. Use after you cleanse and exfoliate.

(Lazy Girl Tip: want to combine an exfoliator and face mask? Use Skeyndor MyMASK Fruit Jam or Dark Charcoal)
